An example of a site that has had effort put into it, but is still lacking in many areas. Most noticeable is if should you ever attempt to W3C validate this site, somewhere in the region of 50 errors appear, many easily fixed.

Aside from this, the site isn't as user friendly as it should be. The important links remain annoyingly small even after changing the browser text size and while the fixed size accommodates small screens, the wasted space on a 1280 by 800 display to the right is annoying and restrictive.
However it does contain everything and more someone seeking information about the school could need, which is a huge positive factor and we should promise to enable the same for our clients.

http://www.webcreme.com/

A site filled with select, new and exceptional website designs. Proved useful for seeking out potential design features that could be used in the production of our own website. When I checked webcreme, http://www.redflystudios.com/ was at the top of the roost and I have to admit, the strong scheme of a single bright powerful colour on clean white and light greys had an influence on how I initially envisaged our own design.

Now what I immediately liked about this design website were the immediate links to downloads (everyone loves downloading stuff, its part of some 'free stuff!!' mentality that we have that is unmistakable every freshers week), and in particular straight to downloading more information even before you have had the chance to really look at the site or their products. This is a definite keep feature for ours.
But GREY?! With bright flashing primary and secondary colours that look amazingly close to one of those flash ads people have a tendacy to try to obliterate from view.
This site does try to have a broader appeal than we intend for ours, looking to create sites for the entire educational range from nurseries to higher education.

Website Linking

Adobe Acrobat Reader - Info on acceptible and authorised use of a link to Adobe Reader software.
Same for macromedia (now adobe) flash player
An interesting condition being 'a minimum spacing (the height of the Web logo) between each side of the Web logo' means that these images get their own CSS image class with margins of 31px left and right.

Some very strong designs in the portfolio section, which appears immediately as the front page from a google search. Some great credentials in the info given about each client and their website. This site features FLASH as a major component, however disabling javascript seems to make it disappear leaving the page feeling incomplete and completely breaks navigation between the three main sections. Text size is variable, which is good.
They actually have a set number of 30 designs from which to choose.
